Clara Franke

About the Artist

Photographer and Design student

Starting at the age of 12, Clara has found fulfillment in documenting her surroundings through a lens. Since then her passion for event, portrait and documentary photography has risen steadily. Along the way and after visiting the Media& Arts Charter School in Albuquerque in 2014/15 and now Minerva in Groningen since 2018, other disciplines such as Illustration and Graphic Design joined, next to the interest in curation and event management in the local collective Illustratie57 and the NGO Viva con Agua.

Her work is recognisable through a specific focus on symmetry and a minimalistic color range.

“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; The essential is invisible to the eye.”- Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

This is to remind one of the importance of that, that is often unseen and overlooked. The childlike approach of observing one’s surroundings with curiosity, while appreciating small things that are usually invisible.
